The San Jose Sharks put aside any concerns fans betting on hockey might have had about them not being able to outscore – or just score, for that matter – the St. Louis Blues last night at the Scottrade Center. The Sharks shut out the Blues 4-0 and tied the NHL Western Conference Finals 1-1 in game 2 of the series. San Jose’s lethal power play made a much-welcomed return – though both teams failed to make the most of such plays in the first period. The Sharks' fourth line gave them the advantage early. Tommy Wingels, Dainius Zubrus, and Justin Braun combined on a cycle play to find the former in the slot for his second goal of the postseason and a 1-0 lead. The play was nearly off-sides, but the St. Louis learned from a lost challenge in Game 1 and let the play stand.
Real Madrid finished the Spanish league one point behind eventual champions Barcelona. According to the former’s manager Zinedine Zidane, the latter deserved to win the league, while Real can take solace in the fact they have an opportunity to win an 11th UEFA Champions League Cup on May 28th versus Atlético. This is not just sour grapes either; the European Cup is arguably the most prestigious prize in soccer, and thus could be considered even more important than a mere league championship. Not to mention that it gives people who bet on soccer one last major rush for the season.
It might be a bit difficult to know who to put your money one when the time comes to bet on UFC Fight Night 88 on May 29th – especially if you’ve missed the previous 87 fight nights. The main event between Tomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt should in theory be a no-brainer; the Brazilian is the UFC betting favorite for a reason – or, to be more accurate, for several reasons, even many reasons. Would I say he has a plethora of reasons to be the favorite? Oh yes, he has a plethora.
Andy Murray’s tennis betting odds of winning the French Open – also known as Roland Garros – are better than ever following his defeat of world No 1 Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3 in Sunday's Rome Masters final. The French Open is the season's only clay-court Grand Slam – and Murray had already beaten the 'King of Clay' Rafael Nadal previously at Madrid, yet another sign of the Scotsman’s steady improvement on the red stuff. Murray’s victory in Rome was his first title in the Italian capital as well as his first win over the Serbian on the clay – and only his third from their last 15 clashes on any surface.
Five races into the longest Formula One season in the history of the sports, the auto racing betting favorites to win the 2016 Formula 1 Drivers Championship are beginning to sort themselves out.

Blowout series are no fun, well unless your team is the one of the winning end of said blowout, but for online betting purposes a lengthy series is best. With that said the Penguins leveling the Eastern Conference Finals makes us anticipate more hockey to be played.
After Tampa Bay swept the Islanders and took game 1 of the series, as the underdogs for the first game, it seemed that they were well on their way to a big upset. But Game 1 cost the Lighting Big Ben Bishop, who went out with a knee injury. Despite that blow, Tampa managed to take the first game from the Steel City, 3-1.
The Golden State Warriors, people betting on basketball, the entire world, everyone was shocked by the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 108-102 win in game 1 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. The question is, can OKC keep the momentum rolling for game 2, which will take place on Wednesday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland? If they hope to do so, the Thunder need to strike while the iron is hot. It’s safe to say that we never saw that Oklahoma team coming – but then again we also never saw that Warriors team coming.
American-born MMA fighter of Croatian descent Stipe Miocic was hailed like Julius Caesar returning from the Battle of Zela by his hometown fans of Cleveland....
Continue ReadingA horse – who happens to be called Exaggerator – walks into a racetrack – say, Pimlico Race Course – and is asked, “why the long face?” And he says, “because Nyquist is already here.” Seriously though, it appears as if the fate of the Kentucky Derby winner and Triple Crown horse betting favorite Nyquist and his perennial runner-up Exaggerator is to fulfill the roles of Achilles and the tortoise – or the Coyote and the Roadrunner, to put it in terms anyone can understand. Exaggerator seems doomed to always be two steps behind Nyquist, whether in competition – where he has already lost four times to the undefeated colt – or even if they’re just commuting from one place to another.
