Counter to other sports, the fan base of NASCAR may be the most impossible of all to please. While NASCAR seems to be constantly tweaking the rules, in its defense, they are simply reacting to their customer base. However, those customers like to romance about a past era that was not nearly as good as now upon deeper research. Concurrently the new aero packages released after the Daytona opener has only served to add to betting on NASCAR intrigue. Races have been closer and with more lead changes. Complaints are down except from losing drivers, of course.

Auto Club Speedway
At the onset the Auto Club Speedway emerged as one of the fastest on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series circuit. Opened in 1997 the track is two miles in length with a D-shaped oval configuration and asphalt surface. Further, the track features moderate turn banks of 14 degrees with a front stretch of 11 degrees. And the back-stretch banking is three degrees. Overall this is one of the more popular tracks on the schedule. Especially taking a love for the track are California drivers such as Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick.
Martin Truex Jr
Last year Martin Truex Jr was the betting on NASCAR winner of this race. Kyle Larson took the checkers in 2017 with Jimmie Johnson winning in 2016. Johnson leads all active drivers with three wins in this event. Following that is Kyle Busch with two career wins.
Jimmie Johnson
The Auto Club Speedway is the virtual home track of Jimmie Johnson. Most important of all Johnson has shown incredible success at Fontana. As an example, the seven-time MENCS champion has six wins in 24 starts with 17 top tens and an average finish of 7.2. Most important of all Johnson showed online betting promise last week with an eighth-place finish. While his separation from crew chief Chad Knaus was painful it had to be done. Last week was the first sign of noticeable improvement for Johnson.
Kyle Busch
Balanced against that is Kyle Busch, the hottest name in NASCAR. Busch has taken the lead of the MENCS standings after his in at Phoenix. Rowdy has finished no worse than sixth in any of his races so far this season. On the whole Busch has been quite successful at Auto Club Speedway. In 20 starts he has three wins, 14 top ten finishes and an average finish of 10.4.
Kurt Busch
Also having strong success at Fontana is Kyle’s brother Kurt. Consider that in 20 starts he has one win, 12 top ten finishes with an average finish of 12.8. Kurt Busch is currently ninth in the standings with three consecutive finishes of ninth or better.
Kevin Harvick
Last week Kevin Harvick had a week most drivers would be proud of. But his ninth-place finish was a letdown to most. Harvick is third in the standings and has an average finish at Auto Club Speedway of 15.8 with one win.
Matchup to Watch
In this situation Kyle Busch brings betting on NASCAR momentum and proven ability at California. Certainly, Johnson has owned Auto Club Speedway but is not yet in top form.
