Ticket Guardian 500 from ISM Raceway NASCAR betting odds

For all that talk about NASCAR being in decline that is not the case in Phoenix.  Since 1988 the Valley of the Sun has been one of the most popular venues for big league stock car racing.  As a matter of fact, Phoenix supports NASCAR so well that they are one of the few venues that boast two races per year.  Further adding to the betting on NASCAR excitement is the remodeling of the ISM Raceway last year.  More emphatically this is now one of the top locations in the sport.  Sunday’s race could be among the very best!

Kevin Harvick

The TicketGuardian 500 has been run since 2005.  Owing to the great support of NASCAR at Phoenix was this event added.  Also, a fall race will take place at ISM Raceway near the end of the regular season.  Kevin Harvick was the betting on NASCAR winner last spring at Phoenix.  In fact, Harvick has dominated this event with four wins in the past five years and five total checkered flags for his illustrious career.  Ryan Newman scored upset win here in 2017.

ISM Raceway Specs

ISM Raceway is a dogleg oval that is 1.022 miles in length with one of the most unique track layouts in the sport.  For example, the dog leg has a turn bank ranging from 10 to 11 degrees.  Turn one banks at eight degrees with turn two ranging from eight to nine degrees.  Meanwhile turns three of and four range from ten to 11 degrees. And the start/finish straightaway along with the backstretch bank at just three degrees.

Joey Logano on Top

Last week’s online betting win by Joey Logano at Las Vegas put him atop the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings.  Increasingly Logano has become one of the most popular drivers on the board as defending MENCS champion.  Concurrently Kevin Harvick is right behind Logano in second place followed by Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski.  Hamlin won the Daytona 500 to start the season.  While Busch has finished no worse than sixth in the first three races.  Keselowski won in Atlanta and finished second last week at Vegas.

Drivers to Consider

To be exact Kevin Harvick has dominated Phoenix like no other driver in MENCS.  In 32 career starts Harvick has posted nine wins, 16 top fives, 21 top tens, and an average finish of 9.3.  Along the same lines seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson has been impressive at ISM as well.  Johnson has 31 career starts at Phoenix with four wins, 15 top fives, 20 top tens and an average finish of 10.3.  Additionally, Kyle Busch figures as a top contender on Sunday.  Busch has two wins, nine top fives, and 19 top tens in 27 career starts with an average finish of 11.1.

Matchup to Watch

Certainly, Kevin Harvick is the first place to look as the top betting on NASCAR value at ISM.  Following that would be a strong shot by Kyle Busch.  Meanwhile Johnson continues to struggle after going winless last year.
