With just two more races left in the home stretch of the final Sprint Cup betting action before the Chase begins there’s a handful of drivers on the bubble that could either be in or out when the NASCAR ‘playoffs’ begin and fans should expect to see a mad scramble from drivers in the two final Sprint Cup odds action.
The NASCAR season has been going pedal to the metal for almost seven months and the top drivers that pushed through the field and out driven the competition are about to be rewarded by earning one of the final 12 spots in the Chase for the Sprint Cup title.
If the Chase were to begin today there are handful of drivers who would be in automatically based on their outstanding results throughout the season up this point regardless of how they finish in the final Sprint Cup betting races over the next two weeks. Current Sprint Cup points leader Kevin Harvick in one those drivers. He’s been outstanding throughout the entire NASCAR season and as consistent as anyone. His 3,521 points is best in the series and he maintains a comfortable 279 point lead over Jeff Gordon. Gordon has bounced back from a subpar season in 2009 and is set to make a run at his fifth NASCAR driving title. Even though he’s yet to win a race his consistency has been tremendous and that’s why he’s among the favorites in the final Sprint Cup odds races to win the Chase.
Other big names in the Final Sprint Cup betting action to win the Chase included four time defending champion Jimmie Johnson who simply can do no wrong when it comes to driving a stock car. He’s currently ninth in the driver standings and a couple of poor showings in the final two races of the season could certainly jeopardize his chances, but you’d have to be crazy to bet against the champ not qualifying for the Chase.
But the one driver that may be able to finally knock off the champ from his perch atop the NASCAR driving world is Kyle Busch. What Busch lacks in friends and on-track decorum he makes up for in driving ability and for the first time in his young career he’s in a perfect position (3, 170 points) to claim the Sprint Cup.
