NASCAR’s return has been a remarkable success. Five races into its comeback there have been no glitches at all. Because of this, other sports are getting off the dime. NBA officials have unveiled a plan and start date. While the NHL, NFL, and college football have blueprints too. Last week’s NASCAR betting action from Bristol had a distinctly non-COVID-19 feel to it. Rubbing was racing as Joey Logano and Chase Elliott wrecked out on the final lap. Logano and Elliott had a heated debate afterward. Now the Cup Series moves on to Atlanta for Sunday.

Folds of Honor 500 and Atlanta Motor Speedway Overview
At the onset of this event was the moniker of Dixie 300 in 1960. Jimmie Johnson is in a four-way tie with the most career wins at four. He last won this Atlanta race in 2016. Late on Brad Keselowski has won in both 2019 and 2017. Kevin Harvick was the sportsbook winner of 2018. Atlanta Motor Speedway was opened in 1960. In sum, it is 1.54 miles in length with turn banks of 24 degrees.
NASCAR Cup Standings
The first place in the NASCAR Cup standings is Kevin Harvick. He has finished in the top 10 in eight out of nine starts. He was the winner of the initial Darlington race when NASCAR returned.
Second in the standings is Joey Logano. 2019’s NASCAR Cup champion has two NASCAR Betting wins on the season. Logano finished 21st after his Bristol dustup with Chase Elliott.
The third place is Elliott after his 22nd place run at Bristol. Elliott has had his share of bad luck and yet remains in contention. He was the winner of the second Charlotte race of the season.
Concurrently Brad Keselowski has the hot hand recently. The Blue Deuce is in fourth place with two wins in the last three races. Last week Keselowski took advantage of the Logano-Elliott incident to steal the race. He has finished seventh or better in four consecutive races.
Rounding out the top five is Alex Bowman. Despite a 20th place finish in the Bristol race. Bowman has one win on the season.
Next in the standings are Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, and Ryan Blaney. Completing the top ten are Kyle and Kurt Busch. Neither Busch brother has won a race in 2020. Embracing improvement is Kurt finishing in the top seven three straight races. Kyle has finished fourth or better in three of his last four runs.
Top Atlanta Drivers
Seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson is 15th in the standings but has shown improvement over last year. Specifically, Atlanta Motor Speedway has been one of his best tracks. Johnson has five wins, 14 top five, and 16 top-ten finishes. Also, he has an impressive average finish of 12.0.
Speaking of the Busch brothers they both have strong records in Atlanta. Kyle Busch has 212 starts with two wins, five top-five, and eight top-ten finishes. Kyle’s average finish is 13.8. In like matter, Kurt has 28 starts with three wins, seven top-five, and 14 top-ten finishes. Kurt has an average finish of 14.9.
In sum, Kyle Busch is long overdue for his first 2020 win.
