The Atlanta Motor Speedway offers some of the best action in Motor Racing Betting.  Due to its configuration the track is considered by many to be perfect.  Much of that is based on its distance at 1.54 miles.  Most noteworthy are the relatively high banks at 24 degrees on the turns.  AMS straightaway banks are five degrees.  Atlanta Motor Speedway opened in 1960.  It’s current seating capacity is 71,000 fans.  Last year Bred Keselowski took the checkers in his Team Penske Ford.  Jimmie Johnson was the winner in 2015 and 2016 in his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.  Johnson is tied for the most career wins in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at four.  Hendrick Motorsports has won this race nine times.  A Chevrolet has taken the checkers in three of the past four years.

It was a terrible day at the Daytona 500 for Jimmie Johnson.  As a result of a wreck he finished in 38th place.  Because of that Johnson should be a dangerous choice for Atlanta.  In 26 starts at AMS Johnson has five wins, 14 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes.  In addition, he has an average finish at Atlanta of 11.00.  Furthermore, that average finish is second best of all drivers in the circuit.  With two wins in his last three starts at Atlanta this could be a good spot for the seven time NASCAR champion.

Joe Logano has not won at AMS in 11 starts.  However, he is more than capable of getting the checkers there.  Logano is coming off a fourth place run in the Daytona 500.  He has two top five and three top ten finishes at Atlanta.  The average finish for Logano at AMS is 17.64.

Another top online sportsbook contender includes Kurt Busch.  Busch has a strong record at AMS.  In 26 starts he has three wins, six top fives and 12 top tens. His average Atlanta finish is 15.62.  Meanwhile Kurt’s brother Kyle, has 19 Atlanta starts.  Of note are Kyle’s two wins, five top fives and six top tens.  Additionally, his average finish is 15.26.  A wild card could be Casey Kahne.  In 21 career starts Kahne has three wins, eight top fives and ten top tens.  Kahne’s average finish is 17.86.  Last year Kahne finished fourth in the Atlanta race.

Matchup to Watch

It seems like Jimmie Johnson brings a classic beaten favorite Motor Racing Betting angle.  Consequently, he also brings a higher price than most.  As a result, the Busch brothers and Kahne will bring more value.  They have solid numbers at Atlanta.  In conclusion Kahne in particular combines ability and betting value to this one.
