At the onset of NASCAR racing at Las Vegas in 1998 fans quickly fell in love.  But so too did drivers and their crews. Above all Las Vegas Motor Speedway was opened in 1998 as a mile and a half track.  Turn banks range from 12 to 20 degrees.  And the surface is asphalt.  Seating capacity is 80,000.  Before long NASCAR added two races at Vegas for the schedule each year due to great fan support.  In addition, fans from all over the country flock to Sin City for this race.

Jimmie Johnson

Seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson has been the most successful driver in the Las Vegas spring race.  To show, Johnson has a total of four career wins in this event.  Last week’s winner Brad Keselowski has won the Vegas spring race twice (2104 and 2016).  Kevin Harvick won for the second time in his career in this race last season.  While Martin Truex Jr was the betting on NASCAR winner in 2017.

Last Week’s Standings

Last week Brad Keselowski overcame a terrible bout with the flu to win in Atlanta.  Once again Kyle Busch showed the resiliency that makes him a popular online betting choice.  Busch was sent to the back of the pack to start the race.  Yet he fought all the way back through numerous challenges to finish sixth.  Following a 26th place run at Daytona, Kevin Harvick placed fourth in Atlanta.

Busch Brothers

More emphatically Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the home town track of the Busch Brothers.  Kyle has one win with eight top tens and an average finish of 12.9.  While Kurt has never won at his home track and has just four top ten runs with an average finish of 22.4.

Matchup to Watch
