Following a third-place finish at the Coca Cola 600 Kyle Busch was angry. It was a classic illustration of why he is known as “Rowdy.” Kyle told NASCAR radio that he was going to tender his resignation. Despite finishing in third place he was in a rage. Busch has been critical of the betting on NASCAR race package all year long. Further, he has complained that the package takes away from driver skill. He even said anyone could come out of the stands and drive the different car setups. But Busch showed skill in last week’s Pocono win.

FireKeepers Casino 400 Overview
At the beginning the FireKeepers Casino 400 was inaugurated in 1969. It is the first of two MENCS races at Michigan each summer. Mid-August is when the second Michigan race is run. Now Michigan International Speedway was opened in 1968. Track length is two miles for the D-shaped oval. Turn banks are 18 degrees with 12 degrees at the start finish. Last year saw Clint Bowyer take the checkered flag in a rain shortened affair. Among active drivers Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin lead with two wins each in this event.
MENCS Standings
To begin with Kyle Busch’s betting on NASCAR win last week solidified his first-place standing. Rowdy now has four wins on the season. Further, he is the defending regular season champion. Second is defending playoff champion Joey Logano. So far, he has only one win on the season. Consistency has been his ticket to success. Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, and Kevin Harvick round out the top five. Next are Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr. and Kurt Busch. Ryan Blaney and Clint Bowyer complete the top ten.
Top Michigan Drivers
Last year in the August race Kevin Harvick posted his second career online betting win at Michigan. Harvick is one of the top drivers at Michigan. He has 17 top tens in 36 career starts with an average finish of 12.1.
Brad Keselowski is from Michigan and will be driving at his home track. Although the blue deuce has never won at Michigan, he has 10 top tens in 19 career starts. Keselowski has an average finish at Michigan of 11.9. Kyle Larson has three wins and five top tens in 10 career starts at MIS. Subsequently his average finish there is 13.2.
Resurgent Denny Hamlin has good numbers at Michigan. And a much-improved performance this year. In 26 career MIS starts Hamlin has two wins and 12 top tens. Concurrently his average finish at Michigan is 13.2.
Matchup to Watch
In this situation we get a track that should keep things relatively even for the drivers. Rowdy may be running his mouth but the same drivers that were successful last year remain that way now. Kyle Larson makes for a potentially strong betting on NASCAR choice. Larson draws less attention that the other drivers yet is strong at Michigan. Naturally Rowdy Bush will be a popular pick. But too popular to offer any real betting value.
