Everything about the Toyota Save Mart 350

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 has been run under various names since 1989.  Kevin Harvick was the winner last year.  Tony Stewart was the betting on NASCAR victor in 2016.  Current series leader Kyle Busch took the checkers in 2015.  Retired Jeff Gordon has the most career wins with five.  The Sonoma Raceway track opened in 1968.  It has a capacity of 47,000 fans.  The current configuration is for 110 laps.  Each lap is 1.99 miles in length with 12 turns.  Asphalt is the surface.

Sonoma Raceway

Sonoma always sparks a lot of debate.  Some fans and drivers can’t stand it.  And want it removed from the schedule.  But a majority of others love its unique challenges.  Not to mention breaking with the monotony of cookie cutter tracks.  Most gearheads have grown weary of mile and a half track racing.  Lack of lead changes and passing have become buzz kill.  Sonoma offers competitive racing.  And less emphasis on wind tunnels and aero packages.

Clint Bowyer

Clint Bowyer was the sports betting winner of the last race at Michigan.  He has climbed to fifth place in the standings.  Sonoma may help sustain his momentum.  He has the best average finish of any active driver there at 10.7.  In 12 career starts he has one win and seven top five finishes.

Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson has not been at his normal level this year. The seven time champion is 12th in the current standings.  He has not won a race this year.   But this road course could provide the cure.  In 16 career starts at Sonoma his average finish is 12.5.  Johnson has one win and four top fives at this venue.

Joey Logano

Joey Logano is the quietest third place driver possible.  He has one win on the year.  But his consistency has been impeccable.  Sonoma has been a solid track for him as well.  In nine career starts he has an average finish of 12.5.  He has two top five finishes in the wine country.

Kevin Harvick

Second place Kevin Harvick has an average finish of 13.8 on this road course.  He has 17 career starts with one win.  Harvick has cracked the top five at Sonoma five times.  This year he has five wins.  And finished second in the last race at Michigan.

Kyle Busch

First place Kyle Busch has two career wins on this track.  He has posted four wins on the season.

Matchup to Watch

Kevin Harvick hails from California.  As does Jimmie Johnson.  That and their past Sonoma success makes them superb candidates.  They rate the best betting on NASCAR choices.
