Horse betting experts are bemoaning the fact that, A) the 2016 Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 11th will not see a Triple Crown champion and, 2) that there will not be a rubber match between Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist – who came down with fever – and Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator – though how it could have been a rubber match when the former has beaten latter four times in the past has not been explained.

And while there will be no Triple Crown Champion this year, Exaggerator can still join the distinguished club of horses who have won both Preakness and Belmont – and which includes the likes of Pillory, Capot, Nashua, Damascus, Risen Star, Hansel, Tabasco Cat, and others.
Nyquist Drops Put of Belmont Stakes With a 102 fever
Exaggerator has officially become the new odds-on horse betting favorite to win the Belmont Stakes after it has been reported that Nyquist will skip the race as a result of illness. Looking back on the Kentucky Derby winner’s run, it always seemed rather unfair that he was constantly and negatively compared to last year’s Triple Crown champion American Pharoah. However, in light of this new development, coupled with Nyquist finishing the Preakness Stakes in third place, it appears as if this horse was doomed to not a second more than his 15 minutes of fame – but since a horse year is equal to 6 1/2 human years, then 15 minutes would equal… well, you get the idea.
