The big story in Breeders Cup betting this year will be Zenyatta. The unbeaten Mare will be the featured horse in the Breeders Cup Classic and even though she is a female she could end up being the favorite in Breeders Cup odds. Last Race for Zenyatta – When you watch the Breeders Cup and wager at the Sbg sportsbook you will be witnessing history. Zenyatta is a horse that may never come around again. She is unbeaten in 19 career starts including five this year. Her last race in her brilliant career will be the Breeders Cup Classic against the males on November 6th.
There is nothing like going out in style if she can win that race. She is the unanimous choice as the leading thoroughbred among voters in the NTRA National Thoroughbred Poll. She is owned by Jerry and Ann Moss and is a two-time Eclipse Award winner as champion older female. She will get the chance to go out as one of the best horses in history in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on November 6th.
Competition in the Classic – The main competition to Zenyatta in the Classic should come from Lookin at Lucky who is second in the current NTRA poll, Quality Road who is third and Blame who is fourth. Other possible contenders include Proviso who is fifth in the poll and Gio Ponti who is up to sixth. It is likely that Zenyatta and Lookin at Lucky will be the two horses that get the bulk of the action in Breeders Cup odds in the classic.
Other Classic News – In other Breeders Cup betting news for the Classic, Japanese champion dirt horse Espoir City lost in the Nambu Hai at Morioka. It was a Grade 1 event in Japan. The horse had won six straight before that loss. Some of the wins were impressive including the Japan Cup Dirt and the past races of the Kashiwa Kinen at Funabashi. Espoir City is still set to ship to Churchill Downs for the Classic. It will be the first time that the horse has gone a mile and a quarter. The horse will have to spend six days in quarantine before going to Churchill Downs since he is shipping from Japan.
