Ottawa

In the QB-cle: Trevor Harris threw 33 of 45 (73.3%) for 300 yards with three TD passes and one pick on Friday. He hit six consecutive passes on the RedBlack’s fourth possession, including a six-yard TD to RB William Powell to culminate a nine-play drive. In the fourth quarter, Harris completed five of seven passes on the drive for his third touchdown to make it 28-14.

Offence: Powell had a modest output in his first game back since a 2015 Achilles injury and had to withdraw the game. Nonetheless, Ottawa outran Calgary 116 to 65. Brad Sinopoli led Ottawa’s receivers with 88 yards on eight receptions while Greg Ellingson added eight catches for 66 yards.

Trends for fans who bet on football: The RedBlacks are 1-2-2 straight up in their last five games with the Stamps, and have only covered in one third of their last nine meetings with Calgary. The football betting total has gone over in eight of the RBs last nine games, and over in four of their last six road games.

Calgary

In the QB-cle: Bo Mitchell went 31 of 48 (64.6%) for 376 yards with two TD passes to help the Stamps rally from 14-point deficit late in the game and send it to overtime, including a 43-yarder to DaVaris Daniels  to set up a Paredes field goal in the second quarter.

Offense: The Stampedes offense, as it were, consisted of two punts and a fumble in the opening quarter, until Mitchell made with the 2016 MOP-fu in the second. Daniels – who left the game injured in the fourth after four receptions and 90 yards – made two OMG catches along the sideline which might have gone for scores if he had he not run out of space. Mitchell targeted Kamar Jorden eleven times, of which he caught five for 72 yards and a TD.

Defense: With the RedBlacks comfortably settled in their 14-point lead, defensive back Jamar Wall snatched the ovoid from Brendan Gillanders at the Ottawa 24, one of two forced fumbles by Calgary’s D. On the next play Mitchell found Lamar Durant in the end zone, to give the Stamps a quick six and cut the deficit to 28-21 with 7:03 left.

Trends for fans who bet on football: The Stamps have won and covered in their last six times hosting the RedBlacks. The football betting total has gone over in 80% of Ottawa’s last five times receiving Calgary.
