He defeated Niki Teprstra, while Greg Van Avermaet took third place in the race.
The Liège-Bastogne-Liège, also known as the La Doyenne is one of the five Classic style races on the cycling betting schedule and is run in late April. It is held in the Ardennes of Belgium and goes from Liege to Bastogne and back. The race was part of the UCI Road World Cup. Alejandro Valverde Belmonte won the 2017 race.
