2010 World Cup Bet Favors Argentina vs. Mexico on Sunday

2010 World Cup Bet Favors Argentina vs. Mexico on Sunday. An appealing match in the round of 16 takes place on Sunday for those making a 2010 World Cup bet as Argentina faces Mexico. Argentina won all three of their matches in Group B to finish first while Mexico was able to finish second in Group A.  Argentina is heavily favored in World Cup betting on Sunday in this match.

Argentina was very impressive in their three matches in the group stage.  They started slowly but still defeated Nigeria in their first match before rolling over South Korea and Greece.   Lionel Messi has been explosive in the midfield and he is attracting a lot of attention which has helped his teammates.  Gonzalo Higuain had the hat trick in the 4-1 win over South Korea.

Mexico is a fun team to watch as they have a lot of speed. Unfortunately they don’t have a lot of finishers and that is why they have scored just three goals in their three matches.   They got just one against South Africa in their first match and only two against an overrated French squad. They were not able to do anything in their finale against Uruguay. Mexico really needs to start Javier Hernandez against Argentina and hope that he can find some space. He is their one true scoring threat but he has been brought on as a substitute in recent matches.

Argentina has a good matchup against Mexico.  Lionel Messi should be able to find room and Mexico doesn’t really have enough offensive talent to match Argentina. Mexico also is not a strong defensive club so Messi may just run wild in this game. Fitness could also be an issue in this game as Mexico had to go all out in their last match while Argentina head coach Diego Maradona was able to rest Captain Javier Mascherano, forward Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain in the win over Greece.  Messi was the captain for the Greece match with Mascherano on the bench. Maradona is wary of Mexico and is not taking anything for granted on Sunday.  Mexico and Argentina met four years ago in the World Cup and Argentina came away with a 2-1 victory. Based on the recent form of the two teams, a similar result could be on the way on Sunday.
