What better way to get over the hump than with a little MLS Soccer betting this Wednesday featuring all of your favourites? None. None better.
Houston Dynamo vs. Philadelphia Union
Time: 7:30 PM
Venue: Talen Energy Stadium
Sportsbook odds for fans who bet on soccer:
Houston Dynamo +½ (-111) 3 (+119) +284
Philadelphia Union -½ (-104) 3 (-134) EV
Houston Dynamo/Philadelphia Union Draw +271
The Dynamo celebrated the 5th birthday of the BBVA Compass Stadium (they grow up so fast, don’t they?) with a 2-1 over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday. The sixth home victory of the season is already one better than last year for Houston. Mexican forward Erick ‘El Cubo’ Torres scored his sixth goal of the campaign, proving once more that it is in fact hip to be square.
The U beat DC United 4-0 in their last trip to RFK Stadium on Saturday for the second win in a row – and third consecutive shutout – following a 15-game winless streak. Haris Medunjanin, Oguchi Onyewu, and Fafa Picault each scored his first goal in the MLS, while Medunjanin added two assists. Philadelphia held United to a single shot on goal.
Colorado Rapids vs. Chicago Fire soccer betting preview
Time: 8:30 PM
Venue: Toyota Park
Odds for fans who bet on soccer:
Colorado Rapids +½ (+121) 2½ (+104) +441
Chicago Fire -½ (-136) 2½ (-119) -138
Colorado Rapids/Chicago Fire Draw +279
The Rapids snapped a five-game losing streak and picked up their first win since opening day with a 3-0 victory over the SJ Earthquakes on Saturday. And not a second too soon, because we were going to start calling them the Colorado Slowpids.
The Fire blew out the crestfallen MLS champs Seattle Sounders 4-1 on Saturday. Nemanja Nikolic scored twice for his 8th goal of the season – and 4th in the last three games – to tie the aforementioned Cubo as the regular season co-lead scorers. One of goals came as a result of a questionable penalty kick, but when the margin of victory is three goals, one less or more doesn’t make much difference.
New York City FC vs. Real Salt Lake soccer betting preview
Time: 9:00 PM
Venue: Rio Tinto Stadium
Odds for fans who bet on soccer:
New York City FC PK (+107) 2½ (-138) +193
Real Salt Lake PK (-122) 2½ (+123) +149
New York City FC/Real Salt Lake Draw +250
NYCFC manager Patrick Vieira started Tommy McNamara in place of Yangel Herrera and the gamble paid off, as the West Nyack native scored the equalizer in the Blues’ 1-1 draw with FC Dallas on Sunday. New York has not been able to keep a clean sheet since April 14th.
The Real World: Salt Lake fell 0-4 to the New England Revolution on Saturday. Injuries and the U-20 world cup qualifiers forced manager Mike Petke to start three midfielders for the first time this season as well as debut defender Reagan Dunk. Out with the old and in with the new – and in with four goals against, too.
