The Black and Red defeated the last amateur team remaining in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup, the Christos FC, 4-1 on June 13th, though the scoreboard didn’t quite reflect goings-on in the pitch. Mamadou Kansaye gave the United States Adult Soccer Association-affiliated team an early lead in the 22nd minute. Julian Buescher made it 1-1 about 10 minutes later. Christos managed to keep matters tied for most of regulation until DC scored three goals in the last 10 minutes of gameplay.

The Revs made the most of a red card shown to one of 4th round foe’s men as well as a penalty kick to beat the Rochester Rhinos 3-0 on June 14th. Teal Bunbury, Donnie Smith, and Zachary Herivaux scored for New England.

Daniel Royer, who started in the second half in lieu of Mike Grella, scored the game-winning goal.

The Unionists progressed to the round of 16 for the fifth straight year by way of a 3-1 win over the Harrisburg City Islanders on June 14th. Derrick Jones and CJ Sapong scored in the first half and Marcus Epps in the second, while goalie John McCarthy made four saves.
