This coming Saturday the 18th of July 2015 the New England Revolution will play the New York City FC team at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts with the kick-off scheduled for 7:30 PM ET.
For the Soccer fans, there is more going on than just the FIFA Gold Cup at present, as the MLS soccer league is well underway as the sport continues to grow in the USA and there’s plenty of league action.
As we go into this game the Revolution lost their last game this past Saturday with the Red Bulls of New York, and here they go again in the Big Apple teams as they take on the N.Y. City FC at their Gillette Stadium. Question is can the Revolutions get back on track or will the New York FC team pull off an upset?
It’s not like the Rev’s as they are called are lacking for stars to win games, as have a midfield loaded with talent with T. Bunbury, K. Rowe, J. Agudelo and L. Nguyen as an incredible striker in C. Davies in the roster. But they definitely are missing their team leader who is J. Jones who has been disabled with a groin injury as of late. However, you can look for the Rev’s to succeed playing the struggling defense of the N.Y. City FC. Their leading scorer is Davies with 7 goals to date, while the four, Nguyen. Rowe, Agudelo and Bunbury have combined for 12 assists and 13 goals to date. They could stand a big scoring game to relief their pain from a 5 game streak of loses.
Regardless of the road game losses, the Rev’s have played excellent in home games as they lost only 1 of their last 10 at home in Foxboro.
For the fans of FC New York City, your team comes into this game having completed a struggling game with Toronto that ended in a 4-4 tie, but they are undefeated winning 4 of their ultimate 5 games to date. Two their advantage is that N.Y. FC beat the Rev’s back in March with 2-0 margin, as D. Villa scored the goal to victory in the 18th minute of the game, and then made an assist to P. Mullins in minute 83 to add the insurance goal.
Those 2 coming into this match are performing well as Villa has scored 3 goals in his ultimate 4 games while Mullins has assisted in 1 goal and scored 2 goals himself. They also have the support of the legendary F. Lampard of the Premier League in England, who could be joining N.Y. City FC for this game.
In this game the Revolution will not be too concerned about their defense, because lately they have been playing on all cylinders, as they have only allowed 3 goals in their last 4 games to date.
The betting odds experts are predicting that this game will be won by the New York City FC as the beat the Revolution 2-0!
