In soccer betting you will find three main soccer leagues available. They are the English Premier, Italian, and MLS soccer leagues. There are also many other leagues and tournaments throughout the year that attract great soccer betting interest. The biggest occurs every four years when the best soccer players compete for the World Cup.

Soccer Betting Line Types

There are basically two types of soccer betting lines. There is the straight soccer betting money line and what is called three-way soccer betting odds. Let's take a look at both of these soccer betting types. The money line in soccer betting odds is just like a baseball betting line. It might look like this:

Brazil +150

Argentina -170

Total 2.5 over -120

In this particular example it is a straight soccer gaming money line where you risk $170 for every $100 you want to win on Argentina or the 17/10 equivalent. If you like Brazil you get $150 for every $100 wager on Brazil or the 10/15 equivalent. The total is 2.5 with the over at -120.

The three-way soccer betting line includes the draw option and is listed as such:

Brazil +220

Argentina +130

Draw +170

Total 2.5 over -120

The soccer betting line in this case adds the draw option so that if the game ends in a tie it would pay $170 for every $100 wagered. During the regular season the wagers are

official after 90 minutes, or regulation time in soccer game results.

Soccer betting odds for gamblers around the world involves the same handicapping techniques as other sports. If you want to become a professional soccer gaming player or "punter" as they are referred to then you need to learn soccer handicapping basics. There are many places to consider soccer betting odds and soccer game results. The first place people begin is with their overall match handicapping.

They move to team handicapping that includes ratings, averages, streaks, injuries, home/away ratings, soccer game results, etc. They then consider head to head statistics, individual matchups etc. They also break down league data that looks at the best soccer players. This is all part of soccer handicapping and soccer betting.

Copa America Centenario Group A Betting favorites

Copa America Group A FavoritesThe USA are the soccer betting favorites in group A, but that may not mean much in the closest the Copa America has to a “group of death.” It’s not difficult to picture any of the four teams making it through to the next round. But after five years under Klinsmann and with the luxury of being the host, team USA will not be spared by fans who bet on soccer if they don’t finish first or second, in particular now that Klinsmann has told the press the semifinals are the goal in sight.

Copa America Centenario 2016 Soccer Betting Favorites

Copa America Betting FavoritesMany soccer betting fans are ecstatic about the Euro 2016 in France, but this summer will also have the Copa America – and a very special edition because, like your grandpa whom you never thought would make it to a hundred but did, this is this tournaments’ centennial. As part of the fiesta, the cup has been expanded to include the even number of 16 teams instead of the odd usual of 12. The 10 South American countries will be joined by six others from Central and North America – the latter of which include the United States as a host.

Chile Readying for Early Copa America Title Defense

Chile readying for early Copa America title defenseUnlike Canelo Alvarez, the Chilean football squad has no problem defending their championship earlier than expected. As people who bet on soccer may or may not be aware of, the Copa America Centenario is a special edition of the tournament meant to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Theoretically speaking, Chile would only have had to defend the title they won last year as hosts until 2019 in Brazil. However, the Copa America Centenario will be held as part of an agreement between CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, and will feature 16 teams instead of the usual 12 now that Costa Rica, Panama, and Haiti have been added to participate.

Can Brazil be favorite in spite of what happened back in 2014?

Can Brazil find redemption at the Copa America?Brazil is one of the soccer betting favorites to win the Copa America 2016, but have they gotten over Macho Grande? The place was the Estadio Mineirao on July 8th, 2014. The offender was Germany, and the crime? Four goals in 6 minutes, and seven goals in total. That night in Belo Horizonte, Brazil wasn’t just humiliated. They were absolutely and irredeemably obliterated, the 1-7 final score robbing the hosts of what little pride they had left. It was the single worst loss in the team's storied history, and managed to top even the Maracanazo of 1950 – when Brazil lost the World Cup final versus Uruguay at home – as the country’s worst tragedy.

Can Argentina end a 23-year Copa America trophy shortage?

Can Argentina end a 23 year-old drought at the Copa America? After engineering Argentina's victory versus Belgium in the 2014 World Cup quarterfinals, former manager Alejandro Sabella sang the praises of Lionel Messi in a way in which the vast majority of people who bet on soccer, when looking for the right words to describe the star, simply couldn't muster. Back then, it was undoubtedly more a reflection of the individual. Messi led Argentina to the semifinals of the World Cup for the first time in 24 years, and, of course the final, one of a string of losses Argentina have come to expect in that stage in the last 10 years. And now, probably more than ever, words are better put to use to call to action not just to Messi, but the whole team to direct the world's top-ranked team – and thus the best because statistics are all that matter in sports – to its first major tournament win since 1993.

Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid Pt. 2: Simeone’s Revenge

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid UCL RematchSoccer betting fans who are sticklers for statistics would note that the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday 28th is actually Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid Part 213 or so. In fact, this is probably not even the first time the square off in European competition. However, this is the second time that the two teams will do battle for the UCL trophy. Part 1 came in 2014 when Real dramatically tied the match in injury time and then proceeded to – in much less dramatic fashion – to crush Atlético into cosmic particles to the surprise of none who bet on soccer.

Ronaldo at his ‘best’ for UCL final despite injury scare

Soccer betting fans need not worry over Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury scare during practice yesterday. According to Ronaldo he “had a small problem in the training session” but will be at his “best level” for the UEFA Champions League Finals versus Atlético Madrid regardless. The Portuguese star left practice early under his own power after colliding with should-be-starting-goalkeeper-instead-of-you-know-who Kiko Casilla. Perhaps they were recreating Draymond Green’s low blow of Steve Addams – though thankfully it was Ronaldo’s thigh that took the brunt of the clash. However, doctors quickly dismissed any potential injuries.
