Sportsbooks are headed towards a weekend full of online MLS betting action. Let’s take a look at the current landscape at the top of the conferences, before we break down what fans can expect this weekend.
Online MLS Betting Leaderboards
Sportsbook fans last got treated to MLS action this past Sunday, when Toronto FC put on a show against NYC FC 4-0. It was the only match of the day, but it was still an opportunity to bet on soccer.
With Sunday’s win, Toronto FC managed to climb further up the Eastern Conference rankings. The Reds own the top spot in the East, as well as a 5-point lead over their nearest competition, the Chicago Fire.
Competition is much fiercer for second place in the East, as the NYC FC is right on Chicago’s heels – just one point shy from tying with their rivals. Likewise, the New York Red Bulls are two points behind their New York competition.
In the west, Sporting KC has been doing their best to lock down the conference. Sporting currently has 36 points on the season, giving them a two point lead over 2nd place FC Dallas.
Dallas’ position is far from secure as the Houston Dynamo is closing in with 33 points.
The online MLS betting action will kick off this Saturday, with a total of 8 contests for players to choose from. One particular matchup worth looking over is the pairing between DC United and Toronto FC. Let’s see what the sportsbook odds have to say about this game.

DC United
DC United has a long history of success within the MLS, but it’s a different story for the franchise in 2017. After competing in 22 matches this season, the Black and Red have crawled their way to a 5-3-14 record that yields the franchise a meager 18 points on the year. Naturally, this lackluster total lands DC United at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, 6 points behind their nearest competitor. Yet, somehow, the Black and Red aren’t facing the worst of odds this evening.
"To me it's about trying to put the best team out there to crawl and scrape and find a way to win a game."

Toronto FC
As aforementioned, the Reds own the top spot in the East, all thanks to their 12-7-3 record. Toronto FC has amassed 43 points this season, which gives them a 5-point lead over Chicago.
Considering how dominant the Reds have been this season, a bet on Toronto could be very profitable this Saturday. It’s very likely that the club will walk away victorious against the worst team in the conference, and sportsbooks are still giving them some decent odds.
This season, the Reds have the opportunity to win the Supporters’ Shield for the first time in franchise history. They’ll need to hold on to their lead to do it, and it’s unlikely that Toronto will allow DC to stand in their way.
