The 2015 FedEx Cup will consist of four important events that will take place from August 27 to September 27. These four events will bring out the best golfers in the world with the winner taking up $10 million. There’s one golfer who is the clear favorite to win it all but there will be some good competition to watch for.
Rory McIlroy, the top-ranked golfer in the world, is the clear favorite to win the FedEx Cup. He currently had 4/1 betting odds to win the cup. He finished in third in last year’s cup and got $2 milion out of it. His momentum as the top golfer in the world should propel him to be a clear favorite for much of the event.
Meanwhile, the field is at 15/2 odds. This is good for any golfer who isn’t McIlroy to win the cup. These odds suggest that there’s a clear potential for McIlroy to pull through and win the cup.
Still, anyone could win the cup. This was proven with Billy Horschel, a golfer who is at 85/1 odds to win the FedEx Cup. Horschel won two of the individual FedEx Cup events last year en route to winning the title. Interestingly, these two wins were among the three titles that he has won since he turned professional back in 2009.
Jason Day has 10/1 golf betting odds to win, thus making him the closest individual golfer to McIlroy for the potential to win the title. Jordan Spieth is not too far off with 12/1 odds to win. Bubba Watson is also rather close at 14/1 odds.
Much has been made about whether or not Tiger Woods is actually going to actually compete to try and get his third FedEx Cup title. If he does compete then he will be at 45/1 odds to win the cup. This puts him practically at the middle of the pack in terms of who could be likely to win the FedEx Cup this year.
