Spectators at this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson are set to encounter a revamped experience on the par-3 17th hole. Specifically, there is a new change at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Last week the Salesmanship Club of Dallas (the nonprofit organization hosting the tournament) announced the debut of “Ranch17” along the 17th hole. It is an effort to create golf’s next premiere stadium environment. Previously, Hospitality tents were located along the 17th during Craig Ranch’s first two years hosting the Nelson. A strong lineup is on the Golf betting Lines board.

2023 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Overview
Accordingly, changes for 2023 will significantly expand the spectator capacity for the hole. Including the addition of bleachers behind the green and 41 new hospitality units. That increase brings the total to 145 units along the hole. In sum, approximately 6,000 spectators will be able to watch online betting action on the 17th at any given time. In turn, the Ranch17 title pays tribute to the late Byron Nelson, a 52-time winner on the Tour. Nelson is the namesake of the annual Dallas-area tournament. Nelson, as detailed in the Salesmanship Club’s release, longed to own a ranch before he saw that dream realized. He purchased land outside Dallas following his retirement from golf. Subsequently, he resided there until he died in 2006.
The reimagined 17th isn’t the first par three on the Tour to boast a stadium-like atmosphere. The Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale is best known for its par-3 16th. Specifically, it is fully enclosed by hospitality units and grandstands. Hence the setup will arguably be the most raucous environment in professional golf. While not quite a “party hole” in the way Scottsdale ranks, the iconic island par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass also gives off a stadium-like setup. And spectators flocked during The Players Championship held at the course.
This year’s Nelson marks its third year at Craig Ranch. KH Lee enters the action as the 2-time defending champion. To illustrate, he prevailed in the event’s first two years at the course. The Nelson previously had a two-year run at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas from 2018-19. At the same time, the 2020 tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following a lengthy stay at TPC Las Colinas in Irving.

Golf is less than two weeks from the year’s second men’s major championship. Namely, the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York, is ahead. However, before the PGA Tour heads to the Northeast, it’s time for a trip to the Lone Star State. The AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, will serve as a tune-up for players already in the PGA field. Also, it offers a final opportunity for someone to earn a spot.
KH Lee is the back-to-back defending champion. Additionally, he is joined in the field by world No. 2 Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. Late on, Scheffler and Spieth have been trying to redeem themselves for a disappointing Golf Betting Lines performance at the Masters Tournament. Also drawing interest from gamblers is Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, and Adam Scott.
