Golf Odds Update: When Will We Tiger In 2011?

December 17th, 2020 Golf Betting

The 2011 PGA golf odds action is underway. With two exciting events in Hawaii already in the bag the Tour is starting to feel like old hat and already an breathtaking finish in the Sony Open last week this year is off to a great start.

But for hard core golf betting fans one thing is missing: Tiger Woods.

The world’s #2 golfer has been flying under the radar so far in 2011 which is not that easy for someone like Woods to do.  One of the most recognizable humans on the planet it’s rare that his name of out of the headlines for any prolonged period of time but so far this year –and specifically in regards to the PGA competition- we’ve heard nothing about Woods.

Which is surely how he prefers it.  But what most fans want to know is when can we expect to see Woods’ name in the PGA golf odds competition again?

That could be awhile yet.  Typically Woods plays very few tournaments in the first part of the calendar year as he prefers to prep and practice for the season ahead and more on point, the Majors.

The first Major on the calendar is obviously the Masters which will take place April 7-10.  This would be the absolute latest that we’d see Woods get back on Tour and most likely we’ll see him play a warm up event or two in March, leading up the Masters.

One thing we know for sure is that even in the best of times for Woods, he doesn’t play a lot of tournaments.  This year he’ll likely play a max of 15 events and quite likely he’ll play even fewer.

Woods is currently in a rebound phase of his career after putting together his worst season as professional and finishing without a single tournament.  In similar times, coming off tough seasons, he’s set to work to rebuild his swing and improve his game.  That is no doubt what he’s doing off the radar right now and when he does come back he’ll likely come back in a dominating fashion.

The very earliest we’re likely to see Woods this year in the 2011 golf odds competition is January 27th when the Farmers Insurance Open gets underway.  The only reason we could see Woods at this event is because its being played at Torrey Pines, one of Woods all time favorite courses.  Although the chances of this seem slim and it’s more likely that we see him in a warm event or two in March.
