Golf odds fans have so far enjoyed a pretty interesting start to the PGA betting season but the golf betting odds thus far have been for mundane events.
The real event that every golf lines fan has been waiting for is the season’s first Major. While that’s still some weeks off, golf betting odds fans can take solace in the fact that the Shell Houston Open is just around the corner and will be the final tune up before the Tour rushes off to Augusta.
Golf odds fans relish the chance to wager on one of golf’s premier events and courses at the Masters. However, often overlooked by much of the golf world as a pretty fantastic event is the Shell event which many major golfers use as the final tune up before Augusta. That means that the golf odds board will full of just about every big name on Tour. World number one Tiger Woods traditionally does not play any events in the several weeks run up to a Major and it’s highly unlikely that golf bet fans will see his name among the golf betting lines.
However, most of the other top golfers in the world of golf odds will be there and should make the Shell event one to watch. Hosted at the Redstone Golf Club in Houston, TX this event has proved quite interesting over the last few years and often serves as a good precursor of things to come in the Masters golf lines.
In recent years Australians and Fijians have dominated the event and finished at the top of the golf betting lines board. Adam Scott won here last year and the year before that Stuart Appleby was the golf odds winner. And three of the last six years this golf odds event was carried by Vijay Singh. Expect Singh to play well again this year as he seems in good form. But he more than likely the Aussies will put on another good show and could be the players to beat in the golf lines. All in all it should be a great event and anyone that likes golf odds should use this event as a warm up for the first major of the year.
