Jason Day stands out as the favorite for fans betting on golf on our odds, but not to far behind Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy follow. Day is a popular golfer that is constantly highly picked by bettors. His playing has been consistent enough to make experts take notice and thus he is the overwhelming favorite.

Jordan Spieth, after losing his chance of another green jacket in almost tragic fashion, is back seeking redemption and his position and notoriety place him with interesting +720 odds. Many fans, after what happened to him at Augusta, might be wary of picking Spieth at first. His odds might drop as we approach June.

The controversial golfer, Rory McIlroy has had a pretty decent year, but in the Masters he was not up there where it was expected of him. He was another of the favorites that left a lot of betting on golf fans, feeling disappointed.

The surprising winner of the 2016 Masters is currently not even in the top ten of favorites to win at Oakmont. Danny Willet is currently at +3300, while his win at the Masters was a complete surprise, many experts are very doubtful that he will be able to achieve another shocker at the US Open. The British golfer will likely be highly picked, but considering that his win came in the tail end of Spieth meltdown, it should be worth examining.

Other notable golfers that have decent odds to win it all at Oakmont are Bubba Watson with +3000 he might be a dark horse. Tiger Woods who might be able to write another chapter in his fascinating career, he is at +3500. Phil Mickelson, the veteran,  could pull a surprise on the younger guys he is +2800, Mickelson is a safe bet  as he got good looking odds and decent chances of pulling the upset. But the golfer that seems like a real sleeper that might be able to take us all betting on golf fans by surprise is Adam Scott at +2000. The Australian, green jacket winner in 2013, did not play at The Masters this year and has announced that he will skip the Summer Olympics in Rio, he is a very talented golfer that by his own virtues is always a contender. He might just be the dark horse in this race.
