Audible

Audible is currently the top ranked contender for the Blanket of Roses.  The Todd Pletcher trained horse is a current 8/1 Kentucky Derby Betting choice.  In his last run on March 31 Audible won the Xpressbet Florida Derby.  Many horse players stormed the betting windows shortly thereafter.  Prior to that Audible ran to victory in the Holy Bull Stakes on February 3.  Both wins took place at Gulfstream Park.  It was the Holy Bull win that first captured serious attention for this horse.  John Velazquez got the ride in the Florida Derby win.

Todd Pletcher

Todd Pletcher is another reason why Audible is top ranked.  He carries plenty of Online sportsbook cache.  On the top shelf of trainers, he has multiple Eclipse and Outstanding Trainer Awards.  Pletcher has two Kentucky Derby wins including last year.  He has the second most horses started in Derby history with 43.  Perhaps no other trainer has more Triple Crown season command presence.

Noble Indy

Noble Indy is the second ranked Kentucky Derby contender and will be bet up from 12/1 soon.  On March 23 he won the Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby Stakes.  Pletcher also trains Noble Indy which adds to his esteem.  In the Louisiana Derby win he went off at 5/2 and beat out Lone Sailor.  John Velazquez got the mount.

Mendelssohn

Currently third ranked is Mendelssohn. Odds have this horse at an 18/1 bargain that is likely to be bet up.  Mendelssohn is trained by AL O’Brien.  Back to back wins have done much to improve the colt’s ranking.  On March 31 he ran to victory in the UAE Derby.  Ryan Moore was the winning jockey.  March 9 saw Mendelssohn win the 32Red Patton Stakes.  Once again Moore was the jockey.

Bolt d’Oro

From the start Bolt d’Oro has been touted as a top choice to win the Derby.  The colt is currently ranked in fourth position.  Price wise he has held firm as a 3/1 selection.  His last race did much to garner respect and betting action.  On March 10 Bolt d’Oro won the San Felipe Stakes.  It was his first run since a disappointing third place finish at the Breeders Cup Juvenile last November.  Javier Castellano got the ride.

Matchup to Watch

The matchup between Audible and Noble Indy is fascinating.  Two Todd Pletcher trained horses with John Velazquez on board.  The great jockey can only ride one of them on Derby Day.  Both will be strong Kentucky Derby Betting choices.
