Monmouth Leads Weekend Lineup with $1 Million Haskell Invitational

At the onset of weekend action with the Horse betting odds will attention be focused on Monmouth Park. Saturday features the Grade 1 $1 million Haskell Invitational. This event is set for some of the best three-year-old horses in the world. Top tier trainers Bob Baffert and Todd Pletcher will have entries. So too is the rest of the Saturday card loaded at Monmouth. Haskell Day is one of the biggest of the entire year for horse racing. With that in mind let’s get ready for a truly exceptional weekend!

Monmouth Park – Oceanport, New Jersey – Saturday and Sunday

Specifically, on Saturday Monmouth Park will have a loaded card of 10 races. This includes six graded/stakes races. Those are the Grade 3 $250,000 Molly Pitcher Stakes, the Grade 3 $300,000 Monmouth Cup, the Grade 1 $1 million TVG Haskell Invitational, the Grade 1 $300,000 United Nations, the Grade 3 $150,000 WinStar Matchmaker, and the $75,000 Wolf Hill Stakes. And then on Sunday, there will be 10 more offshore betting races. Featured on Sunday is the $75,000 Jersey Girl Handicap.

Overall, The Haskell is a mile and an eighth race run on dirt. Three-year-old horses only are allowed to run in it. The betting handle is traditionally massive for The Haskell.

First among trainers in public esteem is Bob Baffert. Authentic will be the Baffert entry for The Haskell. Authentic is coming off a second-place finish at the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby. Previously he was the winner of the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes and Grade 3 Sham.

Meanwhile, Todd Pletcher is another top tier trainer that will compete at the Haskell. Pletcher trained Dr. Post will be competing. Last time out Dr. Post finished second at the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes. Before that were two wins at Gulfstream Park.

Lead jockey at the current Monmouth Park meet is Paco Lopez. To illustrate Lopez has won over $462,000 in earnings. Lopez has 34, starts with 13 wins, eight-second, and five third-place finishes. Owing to a dominant win percentage of 34% does he draw action.

Saturday at Gulfstream Park features a scheduled total of 10 races. Following on Sunday will be a total of 10 more races.

On Saturday at Prairie Meadows, there will be 11 races on the card. In a similar way will be a Sunday schedule of nine races.

Woodbine – Rexdale, Ontario – Saturday, and Sunday

Saturday will feature a total of 11 races on the Woodbine card. There are two feature races that day with the Horse Betting Odds. First is the Grade 2 $175,000 Royal North Stakes. The Grade 3 $125,000 Trillium Stakes is Saturday’s other top race. Then on Sunday is a card with 10 more races including the $100,000 Shepperton Stakes.

Del Mar- Del Mar, California – Saturday and Sunday

Saturday at Del Mar has a total of 11 races on the schedule. Featured are the $65,000 Daisycutter and the Grade 2 $150,000 San Diego Handicap. Next on Sunday will be a total of 10 more Del Mar races. Main events are the Grade 2 $200,000 Eddie Read Stakes and the $65,000 Smiling Tiger Stakes.

Delaware Park – Wilmington, Delaware – Saturday
