September 24th, 2020 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball Betting on Indians at Yankees. The Cleveland Indians depart the Lone Star State and head back east to continue their road trip in the Bronx tonight versus the New York Yankees. The Baseball Betting game at Yankee Stadium is scheduled to begin at 7:05ET and will be broadcast to a national television audience on ESPN2.

The Indians got “out of Dodge,” or actually Houston in this case, after dropping the last two of three contest against the Astros over the weekend. The series got off to a promising start in Minute Maid Park when Cleveland scored once each in the first and last innings Friday night. The two runs was all Ubaldo Jimenez needed in the 2-0 Indians victory.

Unfortunately for the Indians they would only score a total of 2 more runs in the final two games of the three game set. Saturday, they fell to rookie pitcher Dallas Keuchel, who went the distance in posting an 8-1 win against them.

Cleveland followed up that loss by scoring just one run again on Sunday in a 7-1 defeat. They averaged just 1.3 runs on 5 hits for the three games in Texas. Their poor showing at the end of the week found the Indians falling behind the White Sox by a half a game for first place in the AL Central. They are an even 5-5 in their last 10 and are 17-16 on the road this year.

The Yankees only had to travel by subway to get home for tonight’s game, after having met their crosstown rival New York Mets at Citi Field this weekend in the aptly named “Subway Series.” On Sunday, Nick Swisher hit a 3 run round tripper in the third to put the Yanks up 4-0, but the Mets came back to tie the score 5-5 before Robinson Canoe won it 6-5 for the New York AL entry with a homer in the eighth.

The Yankees were also victorious in Saturday’s affair 4-3 after losing the series opener 6-4. The Yankees are slowly pulling away from the pack in the AL East, having won 7 of their last 10 and are 20-14 in Yankee Stadium. They lead the O’s by 2.5 games for the top spot in the division heading into tonight.

Tonight’s pitching matchup finds two right-handers facing off, with Josh Tomlin(3-4,5.12 ERA) going for Cleveland and Hiroki Kuroda(6-7,3.57 ERA) for New York. Cleveland has MLB’s best record facing righty starters.

Last year New York took the season series from Cleveland 4 games to 3. The Yankees are home favorites at -$185, while the Indians are +$165. The moneyline is $115/$100 on the over/under of 9.5 runs. Check the Sportsbook Odds for Indians at Yankees game.
