Baseball Lines Preview. The NL West is once again full of talent in the 2010 baseball lines betting action and arguably the most talented division in the National league. That should come as little surprise to baseball odds fans that have seen this division playing at a very competitive level over the past few baseball betting seasons. But what should come as a surprise to most sports betting fans is not that the NL West is talented and competitive but that it’s the San Diego Padres (54-38) that are out front in the MLB betting standings and not traditional powerhouses like the Giants, Dodgers or even the Rockies.
And that’s what makes this series between San Francisco (50-42) and Los Angeles (49-43) so important. Right now these two teams sit third and fourth in the NL West baseball standings and neither can afford to lose division Baseball Lines Preview games at this point in the baseball lines season.
The Giants are 4.0 games behind the Padres and the Dodgers 4.5 games back in the baseball odds standings. That’s not all that many games to make up before October, but neither team can afford to drop any games to NL West rivals.
The Giants have the upper hand in the baseball lines for this Tuesday matchup as they’ll be sending out pitching ace and two-time defending Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum. Lincecum has been the best pitcher in the MLB odds action for the past two seasons and even though he’s been a bit overshadowed by some of the incredible pitching exploits in the NL this season (think Ubaldo Jimenez and Josh Johnson) he’s been as good as anyone and only getting better. Lincecum brings a 10-4 record and a 2.94 ERA to the mound with 136 Ks in 125 innings of work.
The Dodgers will send out their ace Clayton Kershaw (9-5, 3.16 ERA) in what should be a bit of a pitcher’s duel. The Dodgers also will be playing on their home field and have an impressive 28-18 record this season in Chavez Ravine. But the Giants are a pretty good road team with a 22-24 record and Linceum has only lost 1 road start since the mid May.
The Giants will win this baseball odds matchup and send the Dodgers another game down in the NL West.
