Baseball Odds: Giants vs. Phillies Odds Lines and Wagers. The San Francisco Giants of the Flower Power City visit the City of Brotherly Love this weekend for a three game set against the Philadelphia Phillies. The series begins tonight at Citizens Bank Park with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05ET.
When this season began, many would have thought this series would be a matchup of division leaders. It has gone pretty well for the Giants, but the Phillies, not so much. Injuries to the likes of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Roy Halladay have sabotaged a season that began with high expectations. Start your MLB Betting action on Giants vs. Phillies game.
However, the second half of the season has gotten off to a better start with the aforementioned trio of stars healthy. The Phils had won four straight before a tough loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday. They had taken the first two games of that series by the same score of 3-2.
In game one Howard hit his long awaited first home run of the season. Joe Blanton pitched effectively through eight innings allowing the 2 runs on just 6 hits while fanning 7 and not giving up a free pass.
It was Roy Halladays turn on Tuesday to come off the disabled list and make an immediate impact for the Phillies, pitching five innings of 2 run, 5 hit, ball, striking out 6 and once again not issuing a base on balls.
Unfortunately, the long plane ride back to Philadelphia was spoiled when Matt Kemp homered for host, Los Angeles in the twelfth inning on Wednesday to give the Dodgers a 5-3 victory. In the meantime, the Giants were taking two of three from the Braves in Atlanta.
San Francisco (51-41) leads the NL West by 2.5 games over the Dodgers. They are 6-4 in their last ten, but have had some issues playing away from the bay, posting a 22-25 road record this season. Philadelphia (41-52) is all but mathematically out of playoff contention already. They are in last place of the NL East, 13.5 games behind division leader Washington and 10 games from a wild card berth. Check the MLB Odds for Giants vs. Phillies game.
Tonight’s opening game pitchers are “The Freak,” righthander Tim Lincecum (3-10, 5.93 ERA) for the Giants and another righty, Vance Worley (5-5, 3.47 ERA) for the Phils.
Philadelphia is a home favorite at -$125, while the Giants are a +$115. The over/under of 8.5 total runs is on a $120/$100 moneyline.
