Betting Major League baseball is full of interesting characters, superstars, legends and rookies. The Washington National’s starting pitcher Steven Strasburg is one of the latter but no single player has impacted baseball betting and at every level from simple fan interest to MLB props and futures the way that Strasburg has for quite some time. Fans that enjoy wagering Major League baseball action have known about Strasburg for some time, from his stunning college career at San Diego State, to becoming the #1 pick in last year’s MLB draft all the way to becoming the highest paid prospect that wagering Major League baseball fans have ever seen. But surprisingly enough, young Strasberg is one of the rare super athletes that have actually lived up to the monumental sports betting hype and then some.
Strasberg was so impressive during his MLB betting debut that actually named holiday for him: Strasmas. As most gambling Major League baseball betting fans know this holiday occurs every five days when this rookie phenom takes the mound.
This week Strasmas falls on a Saturday as the Nationals host their NL East betting rival the New York Mets. Strasburg is actually in a bit of a mini-slump having lost his last two MLB betting starts after getting off to a 2-0 start. However, he’s pitching as well as ever (2-2, 2.27 ERA), he keeps racking up K’s (48 in 31.2 innings), he’s just not getting any run support. This Nationals phenomenon is not specific to Strasburg as any betting Major league baseball fan knows, Washington’s offense is extremely challenged; traditionally one of the worst in the betting Major League baseball action.
And unfortunately for fans of gambling Major League baseball that are hoping for a Nats win on Saturday it seems unlikely. The Mets are one of the top teams in the NL betting competition and will be sending the red hot R.A. Dickey to the mound. Dickey is a versatile right-hander that has settled in nicely to his role as a starter this season as his 6-1 record and 2.98 ERA against the betting Major League baseball competition indicate.
New York is currently in second place in the NL East (44-35) and trail the Braves by just 2.0 games. They can’t afford to let this betting Major League Baseball victory slip away from them and with Dickey on the mound it won’t.
