After all the All-Star festivities the 2nd half of the 2015 MLB Season starts this Friday the 17th of July and we are previewing the Rockies of Colorado playing the Padres of San Diego with the game being played Petco Park in San Diego, California with the game time at 10:10 PM ET.
If you listen to the fans neither the Padres at 41-49 nor the Rockies at 39-49 have a little bit less than a 1% possibility to win the NL West and no more than 3% of gaining a wild spot ticket to the playoffs.
If you’re a fan of the Rockies of Colorado and Bet on MLB at an Offshore sportbook your Rockies as you might have expected finished the 1st half of the MLB season in last place, and that was even with a late 4 game win over the Braves of Atlanta in which they outscored the Brave 24-11 in that series.
In that series at home the Rockies showed that they were No 1 ranked at .306 in home batting average and had a .357 on base % while having a 0485 slugging %. For the games on the road, they had a triple .237, .284 and .384 in the 1st half of this 2015 season.
Their starting pitcher in this Friday game is to be J. De La Rosa who has an ERA of 4.35 and he has 6 wins and 3 losses has confidence his team will give him the need support with his 3rd start against the Padres in this 2015 season. Yes De La Rosa has struggled against the Padres at 0-2 and an ERA of 12.86 in those 2 games, however lately his pitching has drastically improve in the last 4 games to 2-0 and an 1.88 ERA.
On offense the Rockies will look for their trio with D. LeMahieu, C. Blackmon and N. Hundley to stay hot with the bat as Blackmon in his last 6 game had 13 hits for 27 at bats for a .482 average. LeMahieu in the last 6 games was at .480 and Hundley in his last 5 games averaged .452 at the plate. In the last 10 outings for pitcher De La Rosa he has 8 wins and 2 losses.
For the fans of the Padres of San Diego, even as your team ended the 1st half of the 2015 season with 2 straight wins, they still are a disappoint this season to their fan base. In the offseason your team signed a lot of big name players and they are no better off to this point than they were last year at this half way point.
They seek a much better performing team in the 2nd half, and will start their top pitcher J. Shields who has an ERA of 4.01 with 7 wins and 3 losses to date. To date however, Shields has 3 losses and that with the struggling outing he has had against the Rockies this season has the fans concerned in this, their 2nd half opener.
The Padres hitters are excited to get this game underway as they go up against the Rockies starter De La Rosa, as back in April the Rockies hitters got to De La Rosa for 9 hits and 7 runs in his 2 inning stint, and overall the Rockies are a combined .388 hitting against De La Rosa this season. In the ultimate 4 home games against Colorado the Padres are 4-0.
The betting oddsmakers are predicting that in this 2nd half opener the Padres will beat the Rockies 6-3!
