Jimenez is 15-1 on the season with a 2.20 ERA. The Rockies are favored in baseball betting even though they are on the road. MLB betting odds favor Jimenez and for good reason. He has been unhittable for most of this season and after a little hiccup he looks to be back on track. He pitched well last time out against the Cardinals after struggling in his previous three outings. He has done very well in his career against the Marlins going 1-1 with a sparkling ERA of 1.80.
The Marlins are expected to go with Anibal Sanchez on Monday. He is 7-6 on the season with a 3.66 ERA. In his last three starts he is 0-2 vs. the MLB betting odds with a 5.63 ERA. He has the ability to be very good and could keep Florida in this game. He is 1-0 in his career against the Rockies with a 3.18 ERA.
The Rockies and Marlins have split their last 20 meetings. They played in Colorado back in April and the Rockies took two of three in MLB betting. Two of those three games went under the total. Last year when the teams met in Florida, the Marlins won two of three and in that series all three games went over the total in baseball betting.
Colorado is the pick by many people to win the National League West but for that to happen the Rockies need to start winning on the road. Colorado has struggled away from home this season but they are starting to get healthy and when Troy Tulowitzki comes back they should be even better vs. the baseball betting odds.
The Marlins should be better than they are. They have a Cy Young candidate pitcher in Josh Johnson and a lineup that includes Hanley Ramirez. The Marlins are just outside the top ten in both runs scored and in ERA but they are terribly inconsistent and they continue to struggle at home. The Marlins have the ability to contend in the National League East but they are so up and down that they probably will fall out of the race.
