Friday’s MLB gambling action includes Tim Hudson going for win #14 as the Atlanta Braves host the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Braves are in a fight for the National League East with the Philadelphia Phillies while the Dodgers are almost out of the playoff picture. Hiroki Kuroda is expected to get the start on Friday as the Dodgers look for a road win vs. baseball gambling odds.
MLB gambling odds list the Braves as favorites on Friday with Hudson on the mound. He is 13-5 on the season with a 2.24 ERA. He has allowed just two earned runs in his last 28 2/3 innings. In his last three starts he has been brilliant, going 3-0 with a 0.83 ERA. He is 4-2 in his career against the Dodgers with a 4.19 ERA.
Kuroda is 8-10 on the season but his ERA is pretty good at 3.65. He was very good last time out against Washington as he allowed just two runs in seven innings. He didn’t get the win though and in his last three starts he is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA. He has pitched well against the Braves in his career with very little to show for it. He is 1-2 with a 2.14 ERA.
This is the first game of a four-game series that concludes on Monday. The Braves have won 12 of the last 20 games against the Dodgers. The teams split a four-game series in Los Angeles back in early June. Three of those four games went over the total in baseball gambling. Last season when the team met in Atlanta the Dodgers won two of the three games and two of those games went under the total.
The Dodgers have a losing record away from home this season and it may not get much better against an Atlanta team that has been very good at home this season. The Dodgers are below average on offense and their pitching has not made up for the lack of runs.
The Braves are a sparkling 39-15 at home this season. They can win in a variety of ways but normally it is with pitching. They have a top five pitching staff led by Hudson. He has been one of the best pitchers in the league this season. The Braves offense is just average but when Hudson is on the mound they normally just need to score three runs to win.
