MLB odds fans will have their eyes on Bay on May 30th as the St Louis Cardinals travel to San Francisco to take on the home team Giants in what should be an interesting MLB betting odds match up.
Both of these teams are intriguing in terms of their potential but neither one seems to be playing to the best of their ability so far in the baseball odds season. This should be a good opportunity to see how these teams match up and a possible preview of an MLB betting post season preview. MLB odds makers had high hopes for both of these teams in the pre season. So far they’ve both shown signs of brilliance but been in consistent at best. The Cards are currently in first place in the NL Central baseball odds standings but are tied with the surging Brewers and only 2.5 games up on the surprising Cincy Reds.
After flirting with the division lead earlier in the MLB odds season the Giants have hit the skids and must stop the MLB betting odds hemorrhaging before it’s too late. The team that just several weeks ago was several games over .500 now finds itself in third place in the NL West baseball odds standings and three game below .500. But there’s plenty of reason for hope considering the team’s depth at starting pitcher.
MLB betting odds fans have seen starters Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum demolish opposing batters all throughout the 2009 MLB odds season. Only problem is they can’t get any run support from his team. The team is actively pursuing bats like Dan Uggla and Mark DeRosa to try and bolster the anemic offense, amongst the worst in the baseball odds.
Starters Cain, Randy Johnson, Lincecum and Barry Zito can hold their baseball odds opponents but they’ve got have some run support. Look for big changes to be made; perhaps even before this MLB odds match up.
The Cards on the other hand have plenty of fire power at the plate, led by NL MVP Albert Pujols. He’s off to another blistering start this MLB odds season with 14 HRs, 38 RBIs and a .317 BA. Ryan Ludwick has also thrown the lumber around but the team could use some more power down the MLB odd stretch and will need some other players to step up.
The Cards best weapon in the baseball betting odds this season so far has been its starting pitching. The unheralded rotation has racked up 19 wins in 34 starts and Chris Carpenter has been stellar since his return to the baseball odds (2-0 with a 0.00 ERA).
If Carpenter is on the mound for this one, take the Cards on the road.
