It’s always interesting to see what kind of matchups the MLB odds interleague play creates and of the more interesting sports betting showdowns this season is the rematch between the Boston Red Sox (43-29) and the Colorado Rockies (37-33). These two teams squared off in the World Series betting a few years back during the Rockies miracle season only to see their fairy tale rise through the MLB lines be squashed by the Red Sox. But the Rockies get their chance MLB odds revenge when the host the Sox in a three-game series in the Mile High City. The Rockies took Game 1 of the series in 1-0 pitchers 2-1 pitchers duel, handing Sox starter John Lester a rare loss (8-3).
In game 3 we should see some more quality pitching and this MLB odds contest could be another low scoring affair. But then again, this is Denver, and all it takes is one well hit ball to unleash the home run flood gates.
Dice-K (5-2, 4.59) will be making his long awaited return from the DL. Anyone who follows the Sox in the MLB lines action knows that the skilled Japanese pitcher hasn’t found his groove yet and it could be a quick return the MLB odds action if he continues to struggle with his pitch placement. In the thin Denver air, mistakes often turn into HRs and this is not the place to pitch if you’re not at 100%
The Rockies will send Jason Hammel to the mound who, despite an ERA of 4.03 (par for the course at Coors Field), is off to a decent start to the MLB odds season with a record of 5-3. He’s been a key piece of the Rockies’ starting rotation which has been among the best in baseball betting this year in an ironic twist of fate.
At the plate both of these teams remain dangerous and can score runs in a hurry. If you’re looking to play the MLB odds in this game the smart money is probably betting against Dice K. He’ll be rusty, and as mentioned before, Coors Field is probably the most unforgiving place to pitch in the MLB odds action.
Look for the Rockies to get the baseball betting win.
