The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves play the finale of a four-game series on Sunday night in baseball futures and you can watch the game on ESPN. The Braves are very tough at home and they are favored in baseball betting, especially since Tim Hudson is scheduled to be on the mound.
Atlanta’s Best Pitcher – There is no doubt that the best pitcher on the Atlanta Braves is Tim Hudson who leads the team in wins and in ERA. He is 15-7 on the Sunday Baseball Futures with a 2.41 ERA. He was rolling along in his last start against Pittsburgh before imploding. He gave up nothing until the 7th inning when he suddenly lost it. Hudson has pitched 49 innings in his career against the Cardinals and has a 3-2 record with a 4.96 ERA.
Braves Sizzle at Home – The Braves are the best home team in baseball. They had the fewest home losses of any team in the league. If not for their home success they wouldn’t even be a playoff contender but because they are so great at Turner Field they might make the playoffs.
Do the Cardinals Have a Pulse? Does St. Louis still have a chance to win the National League Central? The short answer is yes but only because of their remaining schedule. Once they get out of Atlanta they have a really favorable schedule. That is assuming they can beat the rotten Pittsburgh Pirates, something they didn’t do in their last series against them. The Cardinals have six games left against the Pirates, six games left against the pathetic Cubs and then four home games vs. San Diego and four at home to end the year vs. Colorado. On paper, the Cardinals still have a shot.
Braves Favored at Sbgglobal – The Braves are home favorites in baseball futures for Sunday’s game. They are favored because they are at home and because Hudson is on the mound. The trends actually point to the Cardinals a little bit because before this series began they had won 13 of the last 20 against the Braves. The two teams have not met in Atlanta since last April when St. Louis took two of three. Two of those three games went under the total in baseball betting with the other game resulting in a push against the baseball odds at Sbgglobal.
