The Timberwolves are in the NBA playoffs for just the second time in 18 years. For casual gamblers, this is a new fact of life that they are not quite used to. By contrast, sharps believe that Minnesota offers tremendous betting on NBA Games value. What gets lost in the shuffle is that Minnesota finished with a solid 46-36 record and in the black. However, nobody saw the Wolves giving the Grizzlies much of a series. Overall, Wise Guys loves Memphis more than any other club. Last year we learned that playoff basketball is a much different game.

SBG Odds Analysis Overview – Gamblers Chasing the Unknown
The Wolves and Grizzlies are knocking gamblers for a loop. This series has shown how difficult handicapping the playoffs can be.
At the onset of this series, the sportsbook expectations were that Minnesota would get swept out quickly. But the series is tied 2-2 heading into Memphis for Game-5. What has been underestimated by casual gamblers was the rapid improvement of the Timberwolves. Especially on the offensive end of the court Minnesota is perhaps the best team in the Association. But the Wolves long history of losing made them a club to oppose in the eyes of the masses.
Memphis is the best team that nobody knew about. Except for the Wise Guys. Memphis was one of the winningest and most profitable teams in the Association in 2021-22. Now, even some sharps are having a crisis of faith. Can Memphis pull itself together? That is the question that previous Grizzlies backers are pondering.
What Makes Minnesota Tick?
The Timberwolves are the NBA’s highest-scoring team. Yet only the sharpest gamblers are aware of that asset. Karl Anthony Towns has emerged as one of the top centers in the Association. Towns is averaging 21.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in the NBA Playoffs. In 2021-22 Towns was an NBA All-Star for the third time in his career. Additionally, Anthony Edwards is pumping in 24.8 points per playoff game
Memphis Brings Needs More from Morant
Memphis guard Ja Morant emerged as an NBA All-Star this season. Of course, he is remembered as the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year. Morant averaged 27.4 points, 5,7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game in the regular season. However, in the playoffs, Morant is being held to 20.5 points per contest. Guard Desmond Bane has picked up some of the slack with 23.3 points per playoff contest.
The Memphis Advantage
Despite their current predicament, the Grizzlies have one advantage over Minnesota that should be the difference. The Timberwolves ranked 24th in the NBA for points allowed this season. Counter to that is a Memphis defense that ranked 12th for points allowed. Additionally, Memphis ranked 1st in the NBA for offensive and 7th for defensive rebounding. Minnesota ranked 16th and 23rd in those same categories.
