NBA All Star Game Slam Dunk Contest at SBG Global

NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest odds should be as competitive as ever. Last year’s champ Gerald Green of the Minnesota Timberwolves may not even be favored in the NBA Slam Dunk contest 2008.  He is going up the previous champ, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, who many people feel deserved to win the NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest last year.  They will be joined in the NBA Slam Dunk contest 2008 by Rudy Gay of the Boston Celtics and Jamario Moon of the Toronto Raptors.

NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest history has some familiar names as winners.  Michael Jordan won the event in 1987 and 1988 and is one of only two players to successfully defend his title. Dominique Wilkins also won the NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest twice, but his titles were not consecutive as he won in 1985 and in 1990.  The first NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest winner was Larry Nance of the Phoenix Suns who upset Julius Erving in that year’s contest.  The only other player to successfully defending his NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest title was Jason Richardson of the Golden State Warriors who won in 2002 and 2003.  Other famous players to win the NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest were Kobe Bryant who won in 1997 and Vince Carter who won in 2000.  The only other two time winner of the NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest was Harold Miner who won in 1993 and 1995.

NBA Slam Dunk contest 2008 odds will show each of the players this year with a real chance to win.  Rudy Gay will be the underdog but last year’s results when Gerald Green won show that any player can win the NBA All Star  Game and Slam Dunk contest.  Even though many people have not heard of Jamario Moon, he could be the favorite in the NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest, as he has experience playing with the Harlem Globetrotters.
