Basketball Betting – Cavaliers Get #1 Pick in NBA Draft. Things are looking up for the Cleveland Cavaliers in basketball betting as they have the #1 pick in next month’s NBA Draft. The Cavaliers won the Draft lottery on Tuesday night and will have the #1 pick.  The Cavaliers will also have the #4 pick in the draft so they should definitely be improved next season vs. NBA basketball betting odds at SBG.

Luck with the Cavaliers
Cleveland was a longshot in NBA basketball betting to get the overall top pick. It is a pick they got from the Los Angeles Clippers and they only had a 2.8 percent chance of ending up with the #1 selection.  Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert sent his 14-year old son Nick up to the stage and luck was with him. Nick Gilbert was born with Neurofibromatosis which is a disorder that causes tumors to grow in the body.  The boy is called a hero by his dad and there was no doubt that many fans were rooting for the Gilberts and for Cleveland.

Cavaliers Can Now Look Forward
It has been a tough year on Cleveland fans. They lost LeBron James to the Miami Heat and didn’t have much to cheer for this season with a poor team.  Now that Cleveland has the top pick and the #4 pick in the NBA Draft they can be very excited about the future. The Cavaliers have not had the first pick in the draft since 2003 when they took James. Cleveland had their own pick already and they got a #1 pick from the Clippers in the deal for Baron Davis. What a steal that trade turned out to be as they ended up with the #1 pick in the NBA Draft.

Timberwolves Thwarted Again
The Minnesota Timberwolves have to believe that someone has it in for them in the NBA Draft. They had the worst record in the league at 17-65 and were a bust vs. basketball betting odds and still they didn’t get the top pick again.  They have dropped in the NBA Draft lottery a total of eight times and they have missed out on the top pick in all 14 of their chances. They will pick second while Utah will pick third with the pick they got from New Jersey in the Deron Williams trade.
