The Celtics and Heat get a rematch in basketball betting of opening night when Boston beat Miami. That game was in Boston while this one will be in Miami. The Heat was thought before the season to be unbeatable but eight games into the season, Miami is only 5-3. The Heat is favored in NBA basketball odds on Thursday at Sbgglobal but there is no question that Boston is capable of winning this contest.
Miami is Beatable
One thing that has been shown early in the season is that Miami can be beaten. The Celtics did it on opening night, the Hornets pulled it off in New Orleans and the Jazz went into Miami and won on Tuesday. The Heat has three superstar players in LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh but that doesn’t mean they will win every game. Miami still has weaknesses and they are not going to win every night.
Miami’s Chemistry
While James, Wade and Bosh may be friends, the chemistry on the court is not perfect. Wade is the scorer which means LeBron has to do things differently now. He is not the first option. LeBron is the passer but he has to adapt to that role and it has not happened yet. LeBron may learn to fit into a different role but right now he leads the NBA in turnovers and that is a problem. Wade is the scorer but there are still times he wants to get other players involved and that has not worked all the time. LeBron and Wade are great players though and both will be fine. The problem for Miami is Bosh. He has not fit into the system. He is the third option on the team and he has no feel for the game. Bosh doesn’t need to score every time down the court for Miami to win but he does need to do other things and so far it has not happened. And not to be left out of the equation is the rest of Miami’s team. So far the pieces just don’t fit together. The Heat has no center, no point guard and no bench. Great point guards are killing Miami and great big men are exploiting Miami on the inside. Those are major problems for a team that was supposed to win more than 70 games this season.
Thursday Basketball Betting Stats
The Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Celtics are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Miami but the favorite in this series is 12-4 in NBA basketball betting in the last 16 meetings.
