Thursday Basketball Betting – Suns at Warriors on TNT

January 7th, 2021 Live NBA Betting Lines

The late game on Thursday in basketball betting has the Phoenix Suns at the Golden State Warriors.

The game will be televised on TNT and is a matchup between two teams that are below .500.  The Warriors were expected to struggle this season but the failure of Phoenix in NBA basketball betting against the odds at SBG has been a bit of a surprise.

Phoenix 8-9 SU, 6-10-1 ATS
The Suns are not only struggling straight up they are losing against the point spread.  Phoenix is first in the league in scoring but last in the league in defense.  Teams that can’t play defense simply are not trustworthy when it comes to NBA basketball betting.  The Suns are getting great play out of Steve Nash and Jason Richardson but neither of those two players is know for their defense.  Phoenix is trying to outscore teams and they are just not deep enough to pull that off on a nightly basis.

Golden State 8-10 SU, 8-9-1 ATS
The Warriors are only a half game behind Phoenix in the standings and they are a better team in terms of the point spread.  Golden State is very similar to Phoenix as they can score but they can’t play defense.  The Warriors offense is not as good as Phoenix but their defense is slightly better. Golden State does have David Lee back in the lineup so it is possible they will start to improve.  Recently they have been awful losing six of their last seven.
