NBA betting has the Boston Celtics at the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday in a game that can be seen on NBA-TV. This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams as Detroit won 92-86 in basketball betting back in January.NBA betting had the Celtics winning the season series 3-1 against the Pistons a year ago. The Celtics come into this game on Tuesday playing very poorly. They were blown out by Cleveland last Thursday and then suffered an inexcusable loss on Saturday night as they lost at home to the pitiful Nets. Part of the problem for Boston is the health of Paul Pierce. He has been out recently with a thumb injury and he is questionable for Tuesday’s game.
In Detroit’s basketball betting win earlier this season it was Rodney Stuckey getting 27 points and 11 rebounds. Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo had 21 points each to lead Boston. Even though the Celtics lost that game in NBA betting, they are still 6-4 straight up and 5-5 against the basketball betting line in their last ten games against Detroit. Boston is also 4-2 both straight up and against the NBA betting point spread in their last six games at Detroit even with that loss in January. Another trend to keep in mind in this game revolves around the total. Seven of the last nine games between the two teams have gone under the NBA betting total.
Boston has been better on the road in NBA betting than at home. The Celtics are awful at home vs. the number but on the road they are 15-15 so they have at least been competitive. Boston Celtics still has the top-ranked defense in the league but their offense continues to struggle. They are now 19th in the league in points per game as basketball betting stats indicate.
Detroit has not been very good against the NBA betting odds this season. They have a losing record at home and on the road. They come into this game playing even worse than Boston having lost three straight. And Detroit’s offensive problems are worse than Boston’s as the Pistons are a pathetic 29th in the league in points per game. Their defense is 10th but it simply doesn’t make up for their lack of scoring. The Pistons are only one game ahead of Indiana for last place in the Central Division.
