We now are in the final stages of the 2015 NBA Conference Finals with the 1st Game of the Eastern Conference with the Cavaliers of Cleveland playing the Hawks of with the Series tied at 0-0 with the Game being played on Wednesday May 20th 2015 at the Philips Arena in the Atlanta, the peach state Georgia with tip off scheduled for 8:35 PM ET and can be seen on TNT TV.
The odds makers of Vegas in this 1st Game have the Cleveland Cav’s the underdogs at +1 on the spread and the Point Total at 197 and Even on the ML with Atlanta Hawks on top at -1 on spread and -120 on the ML. In this 1st game the Hawks are the No.1 in the Eastern Conference, but at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference the Warriors are expected and favorites to win this Series and move on to the NBA Finals for 2015. The Primary reason they are the favorites say the media experts is the presence of the Cavaliers star LeBron who is playing in this section of the playoffs for his 5th consecutive season, and the 1st 4 playoff was when he was with the Heat of Miami.
What’s strange is that the Hawks of Atlanta are shown as 2nd at 9 to 1 to be the winners of the 2015 NBA Title and the Cav’s are 3rd at 13 to 5 behind the Warriors who are at 4 to 7 as winners.
Certainly in the beginning of this series the Hawks have the home court advantage with the 1st 2 games in Atlanta, but the Hawks will seek to win at least 1 of those games to take the edge off of the series for the Hawks by beating them at least once at home in Atlanta. Amazingly the Hawks are 8-1 according to the NBA database in all of their games against the Warriors. The loss against the Warriors was in the 1st of those 8 games and Cleveland routed the Hawks at 126-93 back on Nov. 15, 2014 and at that time they were favorites at home by 7 points. The Hawks in their 2 games at home with the Cavaliers; they beat Cleveland by an average 8.5 points for the 2 games.
