Basketball Playoffs betting favors Atlanta to make it two straight against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. The Hawks won Game One on Saturday as Joe Johnson scored 22 points. Atlanta is a solid favorite in NBA betting to make it two straight on Tuesday in this game that can be seen on NBA-TV. Basketball Playoffs betting is not expected to be that competitive in this series. The Hawks are considered the better team and in Game One they dominated early. Johnson had 22 points while Mike Bibby added 19 points. Josh Smith had 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks while Jamal Crawford had 17 points for the Hawks. The Hawks led at one point by 22 points but Brandon Jennings led a Milwaukee comeback as he scored 35 points. It was not enough though as the Hawks ended up winning by double-digits. John Salmons had 16 points on 6-of-18 shooting in the loss. The Bucks are playing without center Andrew Bogut who is out with a broken hand and dislocated elbow.
The Hawks started fast in Game 1 and really set the tone. “They made some open shots early in the first quarter and we missed some…We got a little shell-shocked,” Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. The Bucks did recover and cut the lead to seven in the second half in NBA betting but it was too little, too late. “When you get into playoff basketball you can build big leads, but teams are going to make runs. You’re going to see that throughout the playoffs,” Hawks head coach Mike Woodson said. “Milwaukee made a heck of a run in the third quarter, and we countered the run.”
The Bucks will try and build on their momentum from the second half of Game 1. “Second half, we can build on that,” Skiles said. “We were much better and were more like ourselves and competed the way we’ve been competing.”
The Hawks have won seven of the last ten against Milwaukee and they are 6-4 against the spread including the win in basketball playoffs betting. The bigger trend in this series looks at the total. The last nine games in this series have gone over. That is a little surprising considering the Hawks can play some defense. It hasn’t mattered in this series of late though with each team scoring more than 92 points in each of their last nine games.
