A very competitive game in NBA betting is on tap for Monday night as the Chicago Bulls host the Denver Nuggets. Last season was a big disappointment for the New Orleans Hornets both straight up and against the NBA betting point spread. The Hornets dropped from 49 wins the previous season and not much went right. Perhaps this season will be a better one for New Orleans and they can be a team to take again with your NBA bet at the Sbg global sportsbook.
Last Year’s Record 37-45 SU, 37-44-1 ATS
The Hornets were not even a good team against the spread last season. They got off to a slow start and early never recovered. Chris Paul was in and out of the lineup last season and the team made a coaching change that really didn’t help them.
Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Chris Paul
Guard – Marco Belinelli
Center – Emeka Okafor
Forward – Trevor Ariza
Forward – David West
Prediction
The Hornets should be better this season and worth an NBA bet simply because Chris Paul is healthy. The Hornets changed their management team as Dell Demps took over as the GM while Monte Williams is the new head coach. New Orleans should be a much different team this season as they are healthy. Chris Paul will be the leader of this team and the addition of Trevor Ariza is huge. He will be a major help to New Orleans. The Hornets are also looking to play Emeka Okafor a lot more this season and that should help their defense. The Hornets are going to be a lot better this season with Okafor playing good defense and controlling the middle. Paul is a great guard who can control a game and now he gets some help with the addition of Ariza. West is still a consistent scorer and now the Hornets can bring Peja Stojakovic and Marcus Thornton off the bench? The Hornets had no bench last season and that was a major problem. This season they have a good bench and that is a huge help.
New Orleans is a definite threat to take a step back up this season in NBA betting. Remember that just two years ago then won 49 games. It is possible that last year was just an aberration and the Hornets get back to the playoffs and have a chance to win 50 games this year.
