NBA Betting Southwest division rivals get together in NBA betting on Friday as the San Antonio Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks.Friday’s NBA betting is highlighted by a matchup in San Antonio as the Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks.  San Antonio has the best record in the NBA and they have pulled away from Dallas in the Southwest Division. You can make an NBA bet on this game between Dallas and San Antonio at Sbg global.com.

Will Dirk Play?
The key question in this game is the status of Dallas superstar Dirk Nowitzki.  He has missed the past eight games and Dallas has really struggled without him going 2-6.  If Nowitzki is back in the starting lineup on Friday then Dallas is worth a play. If he is out again then it is really hard to make a case for the Mavericks.  Dallas has tried to find someone to pick up the slack with Dirk out of the lineup.  Alexis Ajinca is 7-foot but he did nothing in his start in place of Nowitzki.  Shawn Marion was pretty good in his five starts at power forward but putting him at power forward throws the entire Dallas rotation out of whack.  Brian Cardinal got a couple of starts but he is a bench player, not a starter.  You simply don’t replace an MVP candidate that averages 24.1 points per game.  The Mavericks were 24-5 with Dirk in the lineup but they are 2-6 without him.

Spurs 12-10 ATS at Home
The Spurs have only lost twice at home this season and they are doing okay against the spread as well at 12-10.  San Antonio is getting more respect from the oddsmakers so it is getting harder to make an NBA bet on the Spurs and find value but San Antonio is still profitable.

Friday Numbers
The Mavericks have some good trends for this game but you can really only consider them if Nowitzki is playing.  The Mavericks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Southwest. Dallas is 22-7-1 ATS in their last 30 road games and they are 13-6-1 ATS in the last 20 meetings in San Antonio. The Spurs also have strong numbers. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. The Spurs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.  If you are looking at the total in NBA betting you will find that the Mavericks are an over team while the Spurs are an under team. The Over is 13-5 in the Mavericks last 18 overall but the Under is 4-0 in the Spurs last 4 overall.
