The Los Angeles Clippers get first round pick Blake Griffin back from injury this season and that alone should make them a better team against the NBA wagering online odds. The Clippers are still not a great team but there is hope this season that they could be improved. Let’s look at this year’s Clippers and see if they are worth an NBA bet.
Last Year’s Record 29-53 SU, 35-46-1 ATS
The Clippers were not a good team last season either straight up or against the spread. They simply did not have enough scoring to compete on a nightly basis and their defense was poor. It is not hard to see why they had a losing record. It was hard to make a case for taking the Clippers last season but that should change in 2010-2011.
Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Eric Gordon
Guard – Eric Bledsoe
Center – Chris Kaman
Forward – Blake Griffin
Forward – Al-Farouq Aminu
Prediction
The Clippers are probably not going to make the playoffs again this season but they are going to be improved. Getting Blake Griffin into the lineup is a huge help and he will make a major difference this season. The Clippers brought in a new head coach in Vinny Del Negro and he might be able to do a decent job. He definitely can’t be any worse than Mike Dunleavy was. The Clippers have a team with some good young talent. Griffin will take the pressure off of Chris Kaman on the inside and Los Angeles has talented guards in Eric Gordon and Eric Bledsoe. Unfortunately the Clippers still have Baron Davis and he is a millstone around the team’s neck. The Clippers need to get rid of Davis as he is a cancer in the clubhouse and on the team. Los Angeles plays in the same division as the Lakers so that will not be easy but there is at least hope for the Clippers this season against the NBA wagering online number at Sbg global. With Griffin, Gordon, Kaman and Bledsoe, the Clippers have four good young players who they can build around. The future actually looks bright for the Clippers this season and it has been a long time since we could say that.
