New Jersey Nets at Utah Basketball Betting

October 23rd, 2023 Live NBA Betting Lines

Basketball betting heavily favors the Utah Jazz on Saturday as they host the New Jersey Nets. It is the last game of a four-game road trip for the Nets and a back-to-back as they were at Golden State last night.  The Nets have been terrible this season and are not likely to get a lot of NBA betting support in this game against the Jazz.

Basketball betting had Utah winning at New Jersey 108-92 earlier this season.  Carlos Boozer had a game-high 26 points while Brook Lopez had 23 for the Nets.  The Nets have actually held their own pretty well in this series against the Jazz.  They have split each of the past two seasons against Utah. In fact, the Jazz haven’t won a season-series against New Jersey since 2002-03. The Jazz are 27-7 all-time against the Nets at home.

This New Jersey team is terrible but the past history in this series does favor the Nets in basketball betting. They actually beat the Jazz in Utah last year by a score of 105-88 in basketball betting.  In fact, the Nets have won two of the last four games at Utah. That seems unlikely considering how bad New Jersey has been this season but it might give the Nets a ray of hope in NBA betting.

The Nets are on pace to finish with the worst record in NBA history.  New Jersey is last in the league on offense and they are shooting a league-worst 42 percent from the field.  In their first 33 games they went over the 100 point mark just five times.  They also have the second worst rebounding margin in the league at minus 5.78.  The only bright spot for New Jersey in basketball betting has been the play of Brook Lopez who is the team’s leading scorer and rebounder.  The Nets have a losing record against the NBA betting point spread at home and on the road.

Utah has been far better at home in basketball betting than on the road. The Jazz are 14-7-1 against the NBA betting odds at home this season. Utah is in the playoff picture in the Western Conference but it is so tough that they can’t afford to lose games like this against a poor team.  The Jazz have been going over the basketball betting total at home as 13 of their 22 home games have gone over.
