Nothing But Brooklyn Nets for 2022 NBA Playoffs

Last year Brooklyn Nets were seen as a fantasy All-Star team. Brooklyn boasted a threesome of James Harden, Devin Durant, and Kyrie Irving. At the beginning of this season, Brooklyn was the hottest team on the NBA futures market. Injuries took down the Nets for 2021 NBA Playoffs betting. However, that was not supposed to be an issue in the future. Instead, the 2021-22 season began with nothing by problems for the Nets. Irving was out of the lineup with COVID vaccination issues. And then Harden and Durant were unable to stay on the hardwood.

Brooklyn Nets Playoff History

The Nets were born as the New Jersey Americans in 1967. Following that first offshore bookmaker season, they were rebranded as the New York Nets. The only league championships that the Nets have in their history were from the American Basketball Association in 1974 and 1976. Above all, the great “Dr. J.” Julius Irving was the marquee man of those teams. The Nets have two conference titles in the NBA in 2002 and 2003.

Brooklyn Nets Regular Season Overview

Brooklyn’s lineup instability was a carry-over from last year. Of major concern was how disruptive it was towards generating NBA odds consistency in 2021-22. Finally, in an effort to reboot their season, the Nets traded James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons.

In a similar way to last year, the biggest opponent of the Nets has been the disabled list. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving missed too many games. Both are expected to be at full strength for the 2022 NBA Playoffs. However, Ben Simmons is another story. To illuminate, Simmons is out with a back injury.

Late on, Brooklyn produced only two payouts in their last nine games. In just two of their final eight games, the Nets went over the total. As a result, the Nets are 41-38 straight up, 31-46-2 against the spread, and 39-39 over/under the total. Brooklyn ranks 9th for scoring offense, 15th for offensive rebounds, 21st for points allowed, and 20th for defensive rebounding.

Brooklyn Nets Key Players

Kyrie Irving was a major part of the frustration with the Nets for most of the 2021-22 season. Irving’s refusal to get a vaccine kept him out of the Nets lineup due to the state restrictions in New York. Irving is a 7-time NBA All-Star. This season Irving played 25 games and averaged 27.1 points per game.

Kevin Durant played in only 51 games this season. However, he was dominant when able to hit the hardwood. Durant averaged a team-best 30.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. This was Durant’s best scoring season since the 2013-14 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant was the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player and is a 12-time All-Star. He won two NBA championships as a member of the Golden State Warriors. Further, he was named NBA Finals Most Valuable Player in each championship season.

Brooklyn Nets Head Coach

Head coach Steve Nash was a controversial hire two years ago. His critics said that Nash had no previous coaching experience. However, Nash has overcome perpetual player injuries to produce two playoff seasons in two years on the job.
