The Magic have won two of the three meetings so far this season against Boston. Rashard Lewis had 23 points, including the game-winning layup with 1.3 seconds left, as the Magic game back from 16 points down to win. Dwight Howard tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Magic. Ray Allen led the Celtics with 20 points. Orlando also won at Boston 83-78 back in November in NBA betting as Vince Carter had 26 points. The Celtics won the Christmas Day game in Orlando 86-77.
Overall, the Magic have won six of the last ten against Boston but they are just 5-5 against the NBA betting odds. Until the January game, that just barely went over the basketball betting total, the previous six games between Orlando and Boston had all gone under and usually it wasn’t even close.
Orlando has normally been a very good team on the road in NBA betting but not this season. The Magic are just 12-13-1 away from home in basketball betting. The Magic are 5th in fewest points allowed this season which is good but their offense is sometimes erratic as they are 15th in the league. The addition of Vince Carter was supposed to be helpful but in reality he has not been consistent enough and that is really not a surprise since he has been that way throughout his career.
Boston has not been a good team in NBA betting at home this season. In fact, they are one of the worst home teams vs. the pointspread in the league. It is somewhat of a mystery why they have struggled so much at home vs. the NBA betting line. The Celtics have the best defense in the league and usually that will win you games in basketball betting. They have struggled with injuries though and their offense is below average. This Boston team still has talent but other than Rajon Rondo, they look old.
This should be a good matchup on Super Bowl Sunday and a good way to start the day.
